Nightmares and Ears

So I recently had a mini hearing disaster. Tinnitus don't let you sleep. Even when you do sleep, you get nightmares. At least I did. All's well now. Here 's  something new.

Done with my all new Pencil brush in Photoshop.

Got a new intuos 4! woohoo! here is the "udghatan" piece. heh. After being tabletless for so many months. Feels good to paint again.

Red Red Charcoal

Another production started, and here's a something I started making with some red and black charcoal I bought quite some time back but never got around to putting to use. This might be the first one in a series. Might. Never sure.

More inspiration purchased

Bought a few new books from Flipkart.com. Need to make a trip to landmark to get some more. Haven't been there in a while. Also bought a copy of HAWX 2 but my lappy can't play that game :( . Oh well... I need more inspiration to sketch. Gimme gimme.

Milk.

I haven't been having much milk lately. This has nothing to do with that. I got my old data back from my dad some while ago. I've been digging through it to see what all I can clear out and what all I can salvage. This is something that was a WIP long time back. After not having worked on it for about a year, and still being where I left it (because I cant locate the PSD).. I declare this officially complete. Woohoo!

Birthday Blast (From the Past)

So I turn 26 this day. Good to know. Well done, I guess? I really haven't been drawing much.. So here's a whole lotta' sketches from the past from the Grey Magic Sketchbook. Gotta paint more. Yup.

To be back and neck...

Alright so I havn't posted anything since August. I've been extremely busy with production work and have been jumping in and out of somewhat severe neck pains. Now that I'm finally recovering and able to sit with my head dug into my sketchbook for some tens of minutes at a stretch, I have some sketches. I started my second sketchbook, the first one isnt really complete - A few pages are left, but I dont feel like filling them up.

A lots been happening and a lot has changed from August to November. Hopefully, my health will remain in a good condition and my workload will reduce in the next few days and I will have more sketches soon.

Best Monday EVER!

:). That just sums up my Monday. To explain: When I woke up today, I did not realize how good this Monday would be. Four awesomes awaited me.

FIRST AWESOME: When I reach the office, I see a copy of Puyuh's ASTRO CITYZEN lying on my desk! I had asked Yon Hui to get me a copy if he finds one anywhere.. and he did! Thanks Yon Hui!

SECOND AWESOME: I recieve a fb message from my cousin sis after a loooong time for rakhi. She's in UK. ^_^ I miss you too sis! We used to fight so much when we were kids :D. I miss her the most!

THIRD AWESOME: Then, I recieve a SUPERCUTE card from the SUPERCUTE 4 year old Janaki ^_^. Super Yay!

FOURTH AWESOME: Peeps from Pixar, who are here in Malaysia for their talk, came to our studio!! It was really great meeting all the guys, who seemed a whole lottsa fun. :)

Hot shower on a cool evening

The temperature went down today, and it got quite nice in the evening. Perfect and rare occasion for a hot shower.

Waiting for the bus

So this happened after the day I recovered from the fever, and having slept the entire evening the previous day, I woke up at around 5:30. Which is waaaaaaay too early. I couldn't possibly sleep more. I tried. But couldn't. so I woke up, and got myself ready to goto office and decided to wait for the 8:15 shuttle. Time just won't pass. But then I started drawing. And thus this.

So it's been about a month that I've been sitting next to Yon Hui at work. He's a real great guy and I believe has some real good talent and the perseverance that i have seen only in very few artists to better themselves. He has uploaded some really neat character designs in his latest blog update from his sketchbook (which was wonderful to go through), with some really nicely done poses. Do check them out! Looking at him draw, I'm also inspired to draw more! Thanks for the inspiration Yon Hui! Here's a little posing practice that I ended up doing.

Doctors

It's nothing personal, but I hate doctors.

Not my fault really, and it's nothing they do..It's just that all throughout being a kid I have made regular visits to doctors and taken countless medication for my countless allergies. When I recovered, and consequently discovered that I no longer have those allergies, I promised myself - I will make sure, to avoid visiting the doc for stuff like cold and fever - "Avoid seeing doctors". Even if that means not dating one - so be it.

This comes up as I was down with fever for a few days last week. Was almost considering going to a doctor, but then, I recovered. Yay! :D So here's a little something to celebrate.

I have a lot of updates coming up. I hadn't really taken a break from sketching, but more of a break from updating the blog. For now, the most important update is that there will be more updates soon. Heeeh. Yeah I know how lame that is. So to compensate for that I am also posting a couple of recent sketches from the grey magic sketchbook.

Must evolve.

I figured I've always been indulging more into head drawings and faces. So I gave myself  a challenge of drawing different types of faces. And I failed. Need to do much more different shapes. Must start doing studies. Must evolve. Clobber! Clobber! Oh and as always, some typography while waiting for the renders.

Lotsa' rubbish

Two pages of utter rubbish. This is what my (or something in its place) regurgitates while I wait for renders. Spew!

More importantly, attended an awesome sculpting session conducted by Jarold Sng. He is a brilliant teacher, and  a real awesome sculptor. Was real fun attending the session. We sculpted a bust which Jarold guided us through. Here's the reference :

Too short.

I'm too short to be sexy. If I were tall (and a few hundred things here and there) I would be very very attractive. :P So you see I'm fairly close. Honestly. Quick digital thingy, trying out some fur. I messed up the lighting pretty bad.

Stupid way to say I'm not OK. A quick digital doodle after a long time.

No work in the office for now. I must have yawned over 20 times today at work. A futile attempt to keep myself awake follows.

Love is stupid

Kind of sums it up. KL is going good. Going to attend some sculpting sessions and sketching sessions with peeps from the office next week. Should be great fun. Really looking forward to it. For the meanwhile, a set of two interrelated quick doodles.
